Gary's List of SCSI Devices with Known Problems
Updated January 29, 1999

Western Digital:

WD-7000 ISA host adapter

Early versions didn't have a fuse in the TERMPWR circuit. Reversing the SCSI connector caused smoke and possibly burned cables.

Pioneer:

DVD-U02 SCSI DVD-ROM drive

Pin 25 of the SCSI connector is GROUND. It should be left OPEN. This can cause TERMPWR shorts.

Granite Digital:

68 to 50 pin external adapters

Pins 17, 18 and 51 of the HD 68 connector are wired incorrectly.

Panasonic:

KXL-D740 Portable CD-ROM drive

Improperly rejects WIDE negotiation message.
